William Wilson, the son of Martha Pegram and William Ricks Wilson, was born in Surry County, January 20, 1860. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary George Stott Wilson, and the following children: Mrs. Joe Lawton, of Detroit, Mich.; W.W. Wilson, of Rushmere; Mrs. Whiting Faulkener, of Richmond; James Wilson of Atlanta, Ga.; Albert Seward Wilson, of Charlotte, N.C.; Mary Pegram Wilson, of Rushmere, and the following grandchildren; Virginia, Joe, Jane and Martha Lawton, Charles and Virginia Faulkener; James Ricks Wilson, Jr., and Frances Wilson; one sister, Mrs. R.E. Boykin, of San Antonio, Texas. Prominent in church work for several decades, he had been deacon, clerk and superintendent of the Sunday school at Bacons Castle Baptist Church for 52 years. Funeral services were conducted from the residence Tuesday at 3 p.m. and burial was in Lawnes Creek Parish Cemetery. The Rev. Mr. Cales, of Bacons Castle conducted the services, assisted by the Rev. L.F. Paulette of Smithfield. His 2 gravestones are pictured with separate Memorials, #20751946 & #20752073. Buried with 1st wife, Virginia (WARREN) WILSON {1861-1898}.
