All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ Mrs. Sallie Walker Buried April 3 At Bacons Castle Mrs. Sallie Price Walker, 56, a native of Surry County and a resident of Norfolk 25 years, died on Saturday, April 1, 1961 at 4:30 A.M. in her home, 1519 Alsace Ave. Norfolk. She was a daughter of the late Christopher C. and Mrs. Nettie Savedge Price and a member of Virginia Heights Baptist Church. Surviving are one son, George E. Walker of Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Warren and Miss Bell Price, and two brothers, Ira Price and Charlie Price, all of Surry County; two half sisters, Miss Bertha Price of Surry County and Mrs. Ruby Whitaker of Newport News; 2 half-brothers, Randolph Price of Newport News, and George R. Price, of Surry County; her stepmother, Mrs. Minnie Price Bell of Surry County and two grandchildren. A funeral service was conducted in the Holloman-Brown Funeral Home Monday, April 3rd. at 1 P.M. with burial in Old Brick Cemetery, Bacons Castle. Find a Grave calls it Lower Surry Cemetery. (FaG Mem. #204363107) Her widowed step-mother 2m. widower Jesse Eldridge BELL. They are also buried there. (FaG Mem. #193155070 &c.)
