MARY JEAN HALSEY WILLIAMS 

  DENDRON - Mary Jean (Halsey) Williams of Dendron, VA passed away in her home 
on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at the age of 75.

  Jean, as she was known to those who knew and loved her, was born on December 
14, 1939 to the late Johnny and Mildred (Ambrose) Halsey in Plymouth, N.C. 
She resided in Creswell, N.C. where she graduated from Creswell High School in 
1957.  After moving to VA, Jean was employed by Virginia Power, by the School 
Board Office of Surry County Schools, and by Daniels Construction, Inc.

  She is preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Maria Williams.  She is 
survived by and cherished in memory by her loving husband, James Octavius 
Williams of 53 years.  They were married in Norfolk, VA on June 3, 1961.  She 
is also lovingly remembered by her son, James Williams Sr. (Valencia Williams, 
MD); by her grandson, James Williams, Jr. and Aidan Williams; by Joseph 
Moseley (Eileen Moseley); by Cheyenne Moseley (Michael Johnson), by Gabriella 
and Mikayla Moseley, and by Cyrus Johnson. 

  The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 
R.W. Baker and Company Funeral Home and Crematory, 11414 General Mahone Hwy. 
Wakefield, VA 23888 with Pastor Ray Rowland presiding.  Burial will follow in 
Wakefield Cemetery.
