JOSEPH J. WARREN 

  Joseph J. Warren, aged 66, of Surry County, died at 8 o'clock on Sunday 
morning at his home, after a lingering illness of ten months.  Mr. Warren 
was a native of the county and spent his entire life there, engaged in 
farming.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Harriet Warren, four children, 
Misses Carrie and Alice Warren, Mrs. William Hawkins, of Roanoke Rapids, 
N.C., and Mr. Lester Warren of Lee Hall.

  Funeral services were conducted Monday at 3 p.m. by Rev. Flaxson of 
Petersburg.  The deceased was laid to rest in Oak Grove Cemetery, Surry 
County.
