ESSIE VIRGINIA BARFIELD YOUNG

  CHESAPEAKE - Essie Virginia Young, 88, of the 1000 block of Canal Drive, 
died Nov. 25, 2008, in a Norfolk hospital.  A native of Dendron, Va., she 
was a member of Little Creek Christian Church.  She was the widow of Kyle 
K. Young.

  Survivors include a daughter, Patricia A. Gale and husband Toby of Douglas, 
Ga.; three sons, Larry K. White and wife Wanda P. of Portsmouth, Darvin Jesse 
White and wife Melanie of Chesapeake and Kevin W. White and wife Barbara of 
Suffolk; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in 
death by her first husband, Jesse Woodrow White, the love of her life and the 
father of her children.

  A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Olive Branch Cemetery. 
The family will receive friends in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. 
Chapel, Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

   family cemetery, in Surry Co. (Find a Grave Mem. #203865022) 

Her mother, Martha Anna Rebecca Frances "Fannie" (PRICE) BARFIELD is 
   buried in Waverly Cemetery. (Find a Grave Mem. #203865022)
