Will of John H. Bell, 1814 - Surry Co. VA Surry Co., VA, Wills Etc. 4 (1822-1827), pp. 593-94 abstracted by Matt HARRIS [brackets & surname capitalization mine] [p] 593 In the name of God Amen, I John H. BELL of the County of Surry, being of sound mind and memory, do make and ordain this to be my last Will and testament in manner and form as is hereafter mentioned or described. Item, My Will and desire is that my Son James BELL Salley BELL, Lucy BELL, Samuel BELL and Thomas BELL be supported on the profits arising from my estate untill they shall arive to the age that they will be able to support themselves. Item My desire is, that my Land and Plantation whereon I now live be equally divided between my five sons namely, William W. BELL, John H. BELL, James BELL, Samuel BELL and Thomas BELL, to them and their heirs forever. Item, I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Sally BELL fifty pounds cash, to her and her heirs forever. Item, I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Lucy BELL fifty pounds cash, to her and her heirs forever Item, My Will and desire is at my death that all my personal estate, Still included be sold, and the money ariseing therefrom, after paying my just debts, and the aforementioned Legacies & charges be equally divided between all my children, namely William W. BELL, John H. BELL James BELL, Salley BELL, Lucy BELL, Samuel BELL & Thomas BELL to them and their heirs forever. Whereupon the said writing is received as & for the last Will & Testament of the said John H. BELL dec.d as far as respects personal estate, and ordered to be recorded.
