VA Surry Co., VA, Wills Etc. 4 (1822-1827), pp. 80-81 abstracted by Matt HARRIS [brackets & surname capitalization mine] [p] 80 In the name of God Amen I Polly HARRISS of the County of Surry and State of Virginia being weak in body but of sound disposing mind and memory do make and ordain the following writing to be my last Will and Testament. I give and bequeath unto my Father in law Thomas HARRISS all my right and interest in and to all the Negroes belonging to the Estate of my Father and all my proportion [page break] [p] 81 of the Negroes which may any wise fall to me from the death of my sister Sally HARGRAVE; also all my interest in and to the Estate of my late husband Robert HARRISS; to him and his heirs forever: I give and bequeath one feather Bed & furniture and one hundred dollars: the bed to be appraised and added to that sum; the amount to be equally divided between my Brother Thomas HARGRAVE's three children namely Elizabeth, Jain, and Samuel (D.) HARGRAVE, allotting the bed and furniture to Elizabeth; to them and their heirs forever: I give and bequeath to my brother Alfred HARGRAVE one hundred dollars: forever: I give and bequeath to my sister Nancy HARRISS fifty six dollars forever: I give and bequeath to my sister Mourning HARGRAVE fifty six dollars forever The balance of my Estate of any Kind both Real and personal I give to my Afore[?] named Father in Law Thomas HARRISS forever.
