Will of Thomas Harris, Sr., 1829 - Surry Co. VA Surry Co., VA, Wills Etc. 5 (1827-1830), pp. 549-50 abstracted by Matt HARRIS [brackets & surname capitalization mine] [p] 549 I Thomas HARRISS of Surry County being weak in body but of sound mind and memory do make this my last will in manner and form as follows: to wit: 1th. It is my will and desire that all my just debts should be first paid; 2nd. I give to my son John HARRISS the land and plantation whereon he now lives: One hundred and twenty five acres to him and his heirs forever; 3rd. I give to my son James HARRISS the land that he sold to Henry HOLT & I made the right to him and his heirs forever; 4th. I give to my son George HARRISS the land Called Mingers[?] and One hundred dollars to him and his heirs forever. 5th. I give to my son Thomas HARRISS the land and plantation [page break] [p] 550 whereon I now live at the death of his mother to him and his heirs forever: 6th. I give to my dear beloved wife the land and plantation whereon I now live together with every thing on it as it now stands, during her Single life or widdowhood- 7th. It is my will and desire after the death of my wife or marriage that all my Estate not heretofore devised both real and personal shall be sold to the highest bidder and equally divided between John HARRISS James HARRISS George HARRISS and Thomas HARRISS. 8th.
