I Thomas HARRISS of Surry County being weak in body but of sound mind and memory do make this 
my last will in manner and form as follows: to wit:
1th.  It is my will and desire that all my just debts should be first paid;
2nd.  I give to my son John HARRISS the land and plantation whereon he now lives: One hundred 
and twenty five acres to him and his heirs forever;
3rd.  I give to my son James HARRISS the land that he sold to Henry HOLT & I made the right to 
him and his heirs forever;
4th.  I give to my son George HARRISS the land Called Mingers[?] and One hundred dollars to him 
and his heirs forever.
5th.  I give to my son Thomas HARRISS the land and plantation [page break]

whereon I now live at the death of his mother to him and his heirs forever:
6th.  I give to my dear beloved wife the land and plantation whereon I now live together with 
every thing on it as it now stands, during her Single life or widdowhood-
7th.  It is my will and desire after the death of my wife or marriage that all my Estate not 
heretofore devised both real and personal shall be sold to the highest bidder and equally 
divided between John HARRISS James HARRISS George HARRISS and Thomas HARRISS.
8th.  It is my will and desire that provided that my Father in law should be the longest liver 
that the leagisey intend for me be equally divided between my wife and my four Sons;  Lastly I 
Constitute and appoint my sons James HARRISS and Thomas HARRISS my Exe'tors:  In Witness 
whereof I hereunto Set my hand and affix:d my Seal this Seventh day of December

At a Court held for the County of Surry the 28th day of December 1829.
     This last will and testament of Thomas HARRISS dec.d was exhibited into Court and proved 
by the oaths of two witnesses thereto subscribed and Ordered to be recorded:  And on the motion 
of James HARRISS and Thomas HARRISS the Executors named in said will who made oath and together 
with George HARRISS and John HOLT their securities entered into and acknowledged a bond in the 
penalty of Two thousands dollars Conditioned according to law  Certificate is granted the said 
James HARRISS and Thomas HARRISS for obtaining a probat of said will in due form:
