A Verbal Will made by Jno. Smith who died April 21 and 
now put into Writing this 23rd day of April 1720.

Which was uttered in thse or the like Words in our 
presence of us the Subscribers.

As for my Sister Mary she is taken Care for & therefore 
I will give her nothing.  And as for his brother Samuel 
he is likely to be a lusty man & able to work for his 
living therefore he would give him some small thing for 
a Memorandum of him such as David Burnett should think 
fit and all the rest of his Estate to goe to his two 
Sisters Eliz. & Sarah to be equally divided between 
them at the discretion of David Burnitt and some other 
man as he thinks fitt and his wareing Cloath he give 
to David Burnett.

Taken before me Samuel Thompson.

At a Court held at Southwark for the County of Surry 
June the 15th 1720.

The above mentioned Will of John Smith, Deced. Thus 
presented by David Burnett who made Oath thereto and 
being proved by the Oaths of Mary Magarety & Massy 
Rowell.  Witness thereto the same is ordered to be 
recorded & is recorded by

To:  1 feather bed and Cattail Boulster
To:  1 worsted run & quarter broad
To:  1 piece of Corse & quarter blanketts
To:  1 sheet and bedstead and Cord
To:  2 new pewter quart tankard
To:  12 new pewter ciskes weight 38 lb.
To:  12 new plates, 1 old pewter beaker
To:  5 bason weight 10 lb all new,
To:  12 new pewter spoons, 1 Tin sauce pan
To:  8 new pewter poningers
To:  1 Earthen bason
To:  1 Earthen Cup
To:  1 pottle bottle, and 1 pint bottle
To:  1 Iron pot [?] and [?] hooks 26 lb
To:  1 more pot and hook weight 39 lb
To:  1 good frying pan weight 4 1/2 lb
To:  1 good spade, 1 great & 1 small chests
To:  1 old Cashe & about 1/2 a bushell of salt
To:  2 Chip basketts, 1 good Table
To:  6 new Chair frames
To:  6 barrels of Corn or thereabouts
To:  7 lbs. of backon
To:  1 cow & 1 Stear of 4 year old & 1 yerling heffer
To:  12 yards of Druger
To:  6 yards of Shallor buttons, mohair, and wilk to 
     make up a Suit
To:  1 Claw hammer
To:  6 lb. of old iron
To:  1 lb of powder and 4 lb. of shots
To:  6 lbs 4 1/4 in Spanish mony Currency
