All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Linda Harmon trekkergen@gmail.com September 26, 2024, 3:32 pm Source: Https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3q9m-c9px-k5q?i=58 Written: November 12, 1738 Recorded: April 18, 1739 Will of Robert Lancaster In the name of God Amen I Robert Landcaster of Lawns Creek Parish in the County of Surry Being Sick and weak but in perfect Mind, and Memory thanks be to Almighty God for the same have thought fit to make constitute and Ordain this to be my Last Will and Testmant – And for what Temporal Estate it hath Pleased Almighty God to bestow on me I Despose of in form and Manner following Vizt. – I Give and bequeath to my Son Samuel the Plantation whereon he now lives to him and his heirs for Ever I likewise give my Son Samuell one Grindstone & all my Carpenters Tools & one pare of Money Scales & my Cart & Wheels – I Give to my Son William one Razor and hone & Twenty Shillings Cash I Give to my Daughter Elizabeth my loom and all the Tools belonging to the Weavers trade and my best Feather bed and Furniture and my Riding horse and Side Saddle I Give to my Daughter Mary ye: next best Feather bed & Furniture - I Give and bequeath to my Son, Joseph this Plantation where On I now live Containing 150 acres to him and his Heirs Forever I likewise give to my son Joseph Thirteen Pounds in cash & one feather bed & furniture & one pair small stillards & my best iron pot & two breeding sows & all wearing cloath; I likewise give to my Son Joseph the Effects of Four Thousand Sypress Boards Three Thousand Gardin Pails and Fifty Gallons Brandy all which I have now ready for a Market Moreover my Will and Desire is that all my Estate & Sheep be Equally Devided Between Three of my children vizt: Elizabeth Mary and Joseph. And I give all the rest of my Estate to be equally Dividid between my three Daughters Anne Elizabeth & Mary I nominate and Appoint my Son Samuell to be my whole & Sole Executor of this my last will and Testament without having any appraisment. In witness of which I have hereunto Set my hand & Seal this 12: Day November in 1738 Robart (mark) Lancaster (sealed with a wafer) Sign’d Seal’d & Published In presence of--- John (mark) Littell William Hart I leave my son Joseph Landcaster in the Care of William Andrews and his Estate tell he comes to the age of twenty one years old At a Court held for Surry County April 18th : 1739 The within mentioned Will of Robert Lancaster deceased was presented in Court by Samuel Lancaster jun & Exec.
