Will of James Stanton, 1719; Inventory, 1719 - Surry Co. VA In the Name of God Amen. I James Stanton of Surry County being Sick and Weak but of perfect sence and memory praised be the Almighty and Knowing the uncertainty of our being here doth make and appoint this my Last Will and Testament as followeth: Impr. Give and bequeath my Soul to God that gave it me Relying on the Merrits of my Blessed Saviour Jesus Christ to have full Remission of all my Sins at the Last day, and my body to the Earth to be decently Interred at the order of my Exr hereafter named, Item I Give and bequeath unto my Son James Stanton, all my houseing and Land with all Appurtenances thereunto belonging and Eight pewter plates and one Chafing Dish and one Large Chest, and one Couch and one pewter Dish and One pair of Sheets, and one Iron Spitt, and box Smoothing Iron Item I Give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary Stanton One feather bed and boulster with a Little Tick and Rugg, two Pr of Sheets, one Dozen of pewter plates, one quart Tankard, three pewter Dishes, & one pewter porringer & one bason? Item I Give and bequeath unto my Daughter Ann Stanton, three Pewter Dishes one Doz of plates, one Bason, one Feather bed wth Rugg and boulster, one Blankett, Two pair of Sheets, and one quart Tankard, and after all my Just Debts are all payed, then the Remainer of my Estate be Equally divided between my three Chrildren James, Mary, & Ann Stanton And further I do hereby Constitute and appoint my son James Stanton, to be my whole and Sole Exr of this my Last Will and Testament as Witness my hand and Seal this fourteenth day of July One Thousand Seven hundred and Nineteen.
