GAY CEMETERY
SUSSEX COUNTY, VIRGINIA - AT THE SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY LINE

Directions: Follow Courtland Road (Rt. 628) out of Wakefield and turn left on 
Kello's Mill Rd. (Rt. 601)- down about half a mile, you will see the 
Sussex/Southampton line. 
If you look to the right, you will see two tall pine trees in that field, 
with a fence around it and a brick grave covering.

BRITTLE CEMETERY 
WAKEFIELD, SUSSEX COUNTY, VIRGINIA 

Directions: Follow Courtland Road (Rt. 628) out of Wakefield 
to Bain's Realty (R. Whitley Bain & Co.), at Green Level Rd. (Rt. 601). 
The road to the right is the Edwin Carroll farm. 
In the field to the right of the house is a two-stone graveyard. 
The large stone was put there by the family, and the tall, narrow one 
was placed by the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
