Persons or organizations desiring to use this material, must obtain the written consent of the contributor, or the legal representative of the submitter, and contact the listed USGenWeb archivist with proof of this consent. ************************************************************************ Contributed by Christie Canfield **************************************************************** This Indenture made this twenty fouth day of January one thousand Eight hundred and twenty one between Thomas Chappell & James Dillard (commissioners appointed by the County Court of Sussex to sell two thirds of the land that William Wren died possessed of in this County) of the one part and Elijah Wren of the County of Sussex of the other part, Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred & fifty Dollars ---------- to them in hand paid and secured before the sealing and delivering of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, they the said Thomas Chappell & James Dillard by virtue of the power vested in them by the Court aforesaid have granted bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain, and sell, alien, enfeoff, and confirm to the said Elijah Wren -- ---- --- his heirs and assigns forever, one certain tract or parcel of land containing one hundred and Seventy five Acres more or less situate lying and being in the County of Sussex (it being two thirds of the tract of land whereof William Wren died possessed in said County) and bounded by the lands of Joseph Rosser decd on the west George Norsworthy on the South & Mary Pond on the East and the Widows dower on the North, To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land and premises together with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Elijah Wren, his heirs and assigns forever, In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and Seals this day and year above written. ----------------------- Signed & acknowledged in presence of Thomas Chappell (Seald) Anthony Evans James Dillard (Seald) George C.
