Persons or organizations desiring to use this material, must obtain the written consent of the contributor, or the legal representative of the submitter, and contact the listed USGenWeb archivist with proof of this consent. ************************************************************************ Contributed by Christie Canfield **************************************************************** This Indenture made this 23rd day of July 1802 between Thomas Hix and wife Rebekah of Sussex County of the one part and William Wrenn of the aforesaid County of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Thomas Hix and wife for and in Consideration of the Sum of eight pounds to them in hand paid by the said Wrenn before the ensealing or delivery of these Presents the receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged and for divers other Good Causes and Considerations them ??????ing they the Said Hix and wife hath Granted bargained and Sold Aliened enfeoff and Confirmed and by these presents for themselves and their heirs hath Granted bargained & sold Aliened enfeoff and Confirm unto the said William Wrenn his heirs & Assigns forever, one Certain tract or parcel of land Containing eleven & ? Acres lying and being in the County of Sussex near Thompsons Branch adjoining the said Wrenns line begining at a Corner Pine and a Stooping Oak in Said Wrenns line thence Nearly east a long a line of Marked trees to a Corner Pine near the head of Thompsons branch in said Hixes old line thence along the old line Nearly north to Charly Hixes and said Wrenns Corner red oak and thence along said Wrenns line to the first Station 11? Acres (more of less) and also all trees woods underwoods Commons Common of Pastures Profits commodities Advantages emoluments and hereditaments whatsoever to the said William Wrenn with the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents and Services also all the estate right title interest claim and demand of they the said Thos Hix and wife their heirs and Assigns of in and to the said land and Premises and every Part thereof with the Appertenances unto the said Wrenn his heirs and Assigns forever and the said Hix doth hereby Warrant and forever defend the title unto the said Wrenn his heirs &C -- In Witness whereof we the said Thomas Hix and Wife have hereunto Set our hands and Affixed our Seals the day and Year first above written Signed Sealed and Acknowledged in the Presence of us Joseph Rosser Thomas Hix (seal) Anthony Evans (seal) John G Bracy At a Court held for the Sussex County the 2nd day of February 1803 – This Indenture was proved to be the Act and deed of Thomas Hix the party thereto by the oaths of Joseph Rosser and Anthony Evans two of the witnesses thereto and ordered to be Recorded Examd Teste James C.
