THIS INDENTURE Made this 3d day of March in the year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred & ninety two Between Thomas Sanders executor of John Rivers deceased of the County of Sussex, & William Rivers Jr. son of the said dec'd John of the one part, and Winfield Mason of the County of Dinwiddie of the other part. WITNESSETH that the s'd. dec'd. John Rivers did by his last Will & Testament desire that his executors should sell all his lands lying in Sussex County and divide the money between his children. Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said land being sold, & the said Winfield Mason became the purchaser for the valuable consideration of one hundred & Seventy nine pounds ten shillings current money of Virginia, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted bargained & sold aliened and confirmed unto the said Winfield Mason his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land and premisses, situate lying and being in the County of Sussex, and on the East side of Harrys Swamp, containing by estimation Three hundred & fifty nine Acres, be the same more or less. It being the whole of that Tract of land which the said John Rivers deceased died possessed of in the said County of Sussex and bounded as followeth (to wit) Beginning at the mouth of a small branch, thence up the said branch to a Willow Oak, then N.80 E.46 poles To a Turkey Oak in a pond then No.66 E.94 po. to a Turkey Oak, then No.75 E.38 po. to a white oak No.56 W.60 Po. No.51 W.10 Po. No.42 W.28 Po. No.46 W.27 Po. to a small shrub oak thence No.12 1/2 E.16 Po. No.23 E.48 Po. No.19 E.34 Po. No.18 E.52 1/2 Po. to a pine at the head of the Shaw Meddow So.70 W.40 Po. to a small white oak No.40 W.22 Po. to a small pine at a hoghole at the head of Dicks branch, then down the said branch to the mouth, then crossing the buckhorn branch a new line No.60 W.59 Po. to a red oak in the County line, along the said line So.55 W.176 poles to an ash on the run of Harry's swamp then down the run of the said swamp as it meandersto the begining. Together with all the estate right title interest benefit claim & demand of them the said Thomas Saunders ex'or. as aforesaid, & William Rivers Jun'r. son of the said deceased John Rivers, and their heirs, with all the h__ts of the said deed John Rivers To have and to hold, the said tract or parcel of land & premisses, with their appurtenances to the said Winfield Mason his heirs and assigns forever, And the said Saunders executor & Wm. Rivers Jr. son etc. for themselves, and their heirs, and for all the heirs of the said deceased John Rivers, the aforesaid Tract of Land and premisses, to the said Winfield Mason, his heirs & assigns, freed and discharged, of and from the claim of them the said Saunders ex'or. & Wm. Rivers Jr. as aforesaid, and from the claim and demand of all and every other person or persons whatsoever claiming from, by or under the said John Rivers dec'd. shall & will Warrant and forever defend. IN WITNESS whereof the said Thomas Sanders executor, and Wm. Rivers Jr. etc. as aforesaid have hereunto set their hands and affix'd their Seals the day and year first above Written.
