Persons or organizations desiring to use this material, must obtain the written consent of the contributor, or the legal representative of the submitter, and contact the listed USGenWeb archivist with proof of this consent. ************************************************************************ Contributed by Christie Canfield **************************************************************** This Indenture made this twenty fourth day of the 7th Month one Thousand Seven hundred and ninety nine Between Davy Rix a black Man and Fanny his Wife of Sussex county of the one part and William Wren of the aforesaid county of the other part Witnesseth that the said Davy Rix and Fanny his Wife for and in consideration of the sum of twenty pounds to them in hand paid by the said William Wren the receipt whereof the said Davy Rix hath granted and acknowledged they the said Davy Rix and wife hath granted Bargained and sold alien Enfeoff and by these presents doth grant Bargain sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto the said William Wren his heirs and Assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of Land containing fifty acres the same more or less Situate lying and being in the County of Sussex on the North side of the deep Branch and bounded as follows begining at a pine in James Stantons line near the road that leads to Jerusalem thence N 78 E a ?? pool in sd Wrens line thence nearly north to a path thence along sd Wrens line the various cour?? Joseph Ropers line thence along Joseph Ropers line easterly of south to the begining Pine containing 50 Acres it being a tract of Land the sd Rix purchased of sd Wren which was admitted to record in 1798 reference being had thereto will more fully appear, To have and to hold all and Singular the said tracts of Land and premises and every part and parcel thereof and also the reversion and reversions - remainder and remainders right interest claim and demand whatsoever of they the said Davy Rix and Wife or any other person or persons claiming under them of in and to the said tract of Land and premises and all and Singular the said premises with the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto them the said Davy Rix and Wife for themselves and their heirs and against all and every other person and persons whatsoever to the said William Wren his heirs and Assigns shall and Will warrant and forever defend by these presents In Witness whereof the said Davy Rix and Wife Fanny hath hereunto set sin? hands and seals the day and Year above written his Davy X Rix (Seal) Signed sealed and delivered mark (Seal) In Presence of us Thomas Velvin?
