Deed - John Sammons to Henry Gee (Land Titles & Deeds, Book C, 1763-1768, page 183, Sussex Co.VA.) THIS INDENTURE made this Eighteenth day of September in the year of our Lord Christ One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Five, BETWEEN John Sammons of the Parish of Albemarle in the County of Sussex & Lucretia his wife of the one part and Henry Gee of the County and Parish aforesaid, of the other part. WITNESSETH that the said John Sammons, for & in consideration of the sum of six pounds ten shillings, current money of Virginia to him in hand well & truly paid by the said Henry Gee, the receipt whereof he the said John Sammons doth hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold,aliend, Enfeof'd, Released, and confirmed, and by these presents do grant bargain & sell, alien, Enfeoff & confirm, unto the said Henry Gee his Heirs & assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of Land situate lying and being in the Parish & County aforesaid and on the North Side of the three creeks containing thirty nine acres, and is Bounded as follows. Beginning at a pine in the Great Swamp, a corner of the said John Sammons, Between the Lands now sold and the Residue of his land, thence by the said Sammons line South Sixty Eight Degrees, West one Hundred Poles to a hickory another corner Between the said Sammons & the Land that the said Henry Gee purchased of Thomas Underwood, thence by the said Gee's lines North Thirty Six Degrees East fifty eight poles to a pine a corner, Between the said Gee and Nathan Northington, thence by the said Northington line, North Thirty Degrees East eighty eight poles to a white oak on the side of the said swamp Begun on a corner of the said Northingtons thence Down the main Run of the said Swamp to the line begun at it being the tract or parcel of Land the said John Sammons purchased of Major Tiller, which said Land was granted to the said Tiller by Letters Patent Bearing date the tenth day of September One Thousand Seven Hundred & Fifty Five reference being thereto had will more fully appear, and also all Houses Buildings Lands Woods Underwoods, Ways, Waters & Water Courses, Easements, Profits, Commodities, __________, and Appurtenances whatever thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and also the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders Rents and Services thereof & of every part and parcel thereof and all of the Estate Right Title Interest Claim & Demand whatsoever of him the said John Sammons of in and to the said tract or parcel of land & premises and of in and to every part & parcel thereof to HAVE & TO HOLD the said tract or parcel of Land and premises with the appurtenances, unto the said Henry Gee his Heirs & assigns, to the only proper use & behoof of the said Henry Gee his Heirs & assigns forever and the said John Sammons for himself & his Heirs doth covenant and grant to & with the said Henry Gee his Heirs & assigns, that they and each of them shall at all times hereafter have hold possess and enjoy all & Singular the tract or parcel of land & premises with the appurtenances free from all Incumberances whatsoever and also that he the said John Sammons for himself & his Heirs the said tract or parcel of Land & premises and every part & parcel thereof against him and his Heirs, and against all & every other person or persons whatsoever to the said Henry Gee his Heirs & assigns shall & will warrant and forever defend by these presents.
