Deed - James Sammons to Thomas Sammons 1754 (Deed Book A, page 32, Sussex Co.VA.) THIS INDENTURE made this ninth of September one thousand and seven hundred and fifty four Between James Sammons of the Parish of Albemarle and County of Sussex of the one part and Thomas Sammons of the Parish and County afores'd Son of the said James Sammons for and in consideration of the natural Love and affection which he hath and Bareth unto the said Thomas Sammons and for the Better maintainance of him the said Thomas Sammons hath given granted aliened Enfeoffed and confirm and by these presents Doth give grant alien Enfeoff and confirm unto the said Thomas Sammons his heirs and assigns a certain Tract or Parcel of Land lying and being in the Parish and County aforesaid containing one hundred and Thirty two acres more or less it being part of a patent of land granted to the said James Sammons for two hundred and sixty five acres Dated the first Day of June one thousand seven seven hundred and fifty Bounded as followeth Begining at a Black gum on the main run of Little Ploughman Swamp thence South by a new line to a red oak thence West by a new line Dividing the said Land to a Large Pine on Matthew Hubards Line thence by the said Hubards Line North thirty six Degrees West seventy three poles to a Large Pine thence by a new line North forty seven Degrees East Two hundred and sixteen poles to a black gum on the run of the Ploughman Swamp to the begining and all and singular the Housses Edifices Buildings, Barn & Stables Gardens, Orchards woods underwoods waters and water coursses Easements Profits Comodities Advantages Hereditaments and Appurt's, whatsoever to the said messuage or tenement Land and premises above mentioned or any part thereof and the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders Rents and Services of all and singular the said premisses and also all the Estate Rite Title Interest, property claim and Demand whatsoever of him the said James Sammons of in and to the said messuage Lands and premises with their and every their appurt. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said messuage or tenement Lands Hereditaments and all and singular the premisses hereby granted and conveyed with their appurt's. unto the s'd Thos.Sammons his Heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the s'd Thos.Sammons his Heirs and assigns forever and the s'd James Sammons for himself his Heirs Extors. Admrs. doth covenant promise and grant to and with the s'd Thos.Sammons his Heirs and assigns by these presents that the said Thomas Sammons his Heirs and assigns shall all and Lawfully may from henceforth forever hereafter peaceably and quietly have hold use occupy possess and enjoy the s'd messuage or tenement Lands and premisses above mentioned & suficiently saved & kept Harmless of and from all titles troubles charges & Incumberances whatsoever by him the said James Sammons his Heirs Extors. or admors. or any other person or persons Lawfully claiming or to claim by from or under him them or any or either of them In Witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and affixed my seal this Day and year first above written.
