Deed - James Sammons Sr. to William Sammons 1754 (Deed Book A, page 34, Sussex Co.VA.) THIS INDENTURE made this Fourteenth Day of October one thousand seven and fifty four BETWEEN James Sammons Sen. of the Parish of Albemarle and County of Sussex of the one part & William Sammons of the Parish and County aforeaid Son of the said James Sammons of the other part WITNESSETH that the said James Sammons for and in consideration of the natural Love and affection which he hath and Beareth unto the said William Sammons for the Better maintenance of him the said William Sammons Hath given granted aliened Enfeoffed and confirm and by these presents Doth give grant alien Enfeoff and confirm unto the said William Sammons his Heirs and assigns a certain Tract or Parcel of Land Lying and being in the Parish and County afs'd. containing One Hundred and Thirty Three Acres more or less it being part of a patent of Land granted to the said James Sammons for two Hundred and sixty five Acres and Dated the first day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven Hundred and fifty and bounded as followeth BEGINING at a red oak on a new Dividing Line thence West by a line of markt trees to a large pine and South five Degrees East thirty four poles to Matthew Hubbards corner pine thence by the said Hubbards line South thirty five Degrees West one Hundred and Twenty Eight poles to a small Turkey oak thence by new line North fifty seven Degrees West seventy four poles to pine and North thirty seven Degrees West thirty poles to a Lightwood knott on Major Tillon Line thence with the said Tillon Line North twenty two Degrees East one Hundred and ten poles to a large pine thence by a new Dividing Line of markt trees to the Red oak begun on. And all and singular the Housses Edifices Building Barns Stables gardens orchards woods underwoods waters and water courses Easements profits comodities advantages Hereditaments and appurts. whatsoever to the said messuage or tenement Land and premises above mentioned or any part thereof and the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders Rents & services of all and singular the said premises and all the Estate Right Title Interest property claim and Demand whatsoever of him the said James Sammons of in and to the said messuage Lands and premisses with their and every of their appurtenances TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said messuage or tenement Lands Hereditaments and all and singular the premisses hereby granted and conveyed with their appurtenances unto the said William Sammons his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the said William Sammons his heirs forever and the said James Sammons for himself his Heirs Exors. and admors. doth covenant promise and grant to and with the said William Sammons his Heirs and assigns by these presents that the said William Sammons his Heirs and assigns shall and Lawfully may from henceforth forever hereafter peaceably and quietly have hold use occupy possess & enjoy the said messuage or tenement Lands & premisses above mention & sufficiently saved and kept harmless of and from all titles troubles charges & Incumbrances whatsoever by him the said James Sammons his heirs Exors. or admors. or any other person or persons Lawfully claiming or to claim by from or under him them or any or Either of them IN WITNESS whereof I have Hereunto put my hand and affixed my seal this day and year first above written.
