Deed - Thomas Sammons to Hardy Sammons 1792 (Deed Book G, page 735, Sussex Co.VA.) THIS INDENTURE made this 16th day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & ninety two, Between Thomas Sammons of the County of Sussex of the one part and Hardy Sammons of the said County of Sussex of the other part WITNESSETH that the said Thomas Sammons for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty Nine Pounds fourteen Shillings current money to him in hand paid by the said Hardy Sammons at or before the Sealing and Delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof he the said Thomas Sammons hath granted, bargained & sold and by these presents doth grant bargain sell, alein & confirm unto the said Hardy Sammons, his Heirs & assigns, all that certain Tract, part or parcel of land situate lying and being in the said County of Sussex containing by estimation Sixty Two Acres be the same more or less and is a part of one hundred and thirty two acres of land which was conveyed to him the said Thomas Sammons from his father James Sammons by Deed bearing date the Ninth day of September in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and fifty four duly recorded in the Court of the said County of Sussex reference thereto being had may more fully and at large appear which said sixty six acres of land is particularly bounded as in the said Deed above mentioned is particularly described, with all ways, waters, water courses, profits, commoditys hereditaments & appurtenances whatsoever to the said tract or parcel of Land belonging or in any wise appurtaining also the Reversion & Reversions, Remains or Remainders, Rents and services of all and singular the said premises and every part and parcel thereof. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of Land with its appurtenances to him the said Hardy Sammons his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Hardy Sammons his Heirs and assigns forever and the said Thomas Sammons for himself and his Heirs the said Tract or parcel of Land and premises to the said Hardy Sammons his Heirs and assigns against him the said Thomas Sammons and his Heirs and against all other persons shall and will warrant and forever defend PROVIDED nevertheless and it is hereby agreed on, that the said Thomas Sammons is to enjoy the possession & life of the said sixty six acres of Land and premises with out interruption or molestation for and during his natural life so as not to rent it out or commit waste thereon.
