Deed - William Sammons to William Seaburn 1763 (Deed Book B, page 406, Sussex Co.VA.) THIS INDENTURE made this ninteenth day of May In the third year of the reign of our Soverign Lord George the third by the grace of God, of Great Britain France and Ireland KING Defender of the faith etc., And in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred & Sixty three Between William Sammons of the County of Sussex in the Parish of Albemarle & Rebeckah his wife of the one part & William Seaburn of the Parish and County aforesaid of the other part. WITNESSETH that the said William Sammons for and in consideration of the sum of twelve pounds current money of Virginia to him in hand well and truly paid by the said William Seaburn the receipt whereof he the said William Sammons doth hereby acknowledge Hath granted,bargained & sold aliened enfeoffed & confirmed & by these presents doth grant bargain and sell alien enfeoff & confirm unto the said William Seaburn his Heirs and assigns forever;one certain tract of Land situate lying and being in the Parish and County aforesaid and on the South side of Little Ploughman Swamp containing by estimation one hundred and thirty three acres be the same more or less, & is bounded as follows, To wit, Begining at a Red Oak in a Dividing line between the said William Sammons & Thomas Sammons thence West by a line of new marked trees which divides the Land now mine & mentioned to be sold from the land of Thomas Sammons to a large Pine, thence South five Degrees East thirty four poles to Matthew Hubbards line, thence by the said Hubbards line South thirty five Degrees West one Hundred and Twenty eight poles to a small Turkey Oak thence by newlines North fifty seven Degrees West seventy four poles to a pine and North thirty seven Degrees West thirty poles to a lightwood knot in Matthew Hubbards line thence by the said Hubbards line North twenty two Degrees East one Hundred and ten poles to a large pine, thence by a line of new marked trees, to the Red Oak Begun at, it being the land which was given by James Sammons to his son William Sammons and his heirs and assigns forever as will appear by his deed Duly Recorded in the County Court of Sussex Reference hereunto being had will more fully appear and is part of a tract or parcel of land which was granted unto James Sammons by letters Patent Bearing date the fifth day of June, In the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and fifty as by Referring to the said Patent may more fully appear AND ALSO all houses Orchards woods, underwoods ways waters and water courses profits Commodities advantages Heriditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the said tract or parcel of Land Belonging or in any wise appurtaining and also the reversion and reversions, Remainder and Remainders Rents and services of all and singular the said appurtenances thereunto belonging, and also all the estate right title Interest property claim & demand whatsoever of him the said William Sammons of in and to the same, TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said tract or parcel of Land and premisses withe the appurtenances unto the said William Seaburn his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the said William Seaburn his heirs and assigns forever, and the said William Sammons for himself and his heirs, the said tract or parcel of land and premisses to the said William Seaburn his heirs and assigns forever shall and may from hence forth hereafter peaceably and quietly Have Hold, use and enjoy the said messuage or tenement Lands and premisses above mentioned and the said William Sammons doth for himself and his heirs the said tract or parcel of Land and premisses with the appurtenances unto the said William Seaburn his heirs and assigns Warrant and forever defend against him the sd. William Sammons and his heirs and assigns all and every other person or persons whatsoever IN WITNESS whereof the said William Sammons and Rebeckah his wife hath hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the Day and year first above written.
