Deed - John E.Schreckenghaust to Edwin Stallings (Deed Book 16, page 504, Sussex Co.VA.) THIS DEED of sale made and entered into this 31st day of January in the year 1905 between John E.Schreckenghaust party of the first part, and E.Stallings party of the second part, Witnesseth: That for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred ($600.00) dollars, cash in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said party of the first part doth bargain, sell and by these presents convey with general warranty, all of his right, title and interest in and to that certain tract or parcel of land lying and being situate, in the County of Sussex,State of Virginia,together with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging, commonly known as "The Sapponey Grove Tract" and containing 1st the lot and dwelling of two (2) acres, bounded as follows; on the North, East and West by the lands of Morris Levy, on the South by the Cabinpoint road, 2nd sixty five (65) acres, by a recent survey, is bounded on the North by the Cabinpoint road, East by the Green Church road, South by Sapponey Creek, and west by the lands of Hartley & Brother. The said land being the land which was conveyed by deed dated the 24th day of April, 1899, from Annie E.Martin to John E. Schreckenghaust, party of the first part, and recorded in deed book no. 12 page 394, to which deed reference is hereby made for a more minute description.And the said party of the first part further agrees to and covenants with the party of the second part his heirs and assigns, to forever defend the right of said land against any and all persons what- -soever making lawful claim thereto,to the party of the second part his heirs or assigns.Witness my hand and seal this 4th day of February 1905.
