EDWIN STALLINGS DEED
(Deed Book 2, Page 699, Sussex Co. VA.)

This Deed made this 22nd day of December 1882, between Z.W.T. 
Mitchell and Julia C. Mitchell, his wife, of Stony Creek, Sussex 
Co. Virginia of the first part and Edwin Stallings, of Tarboro, 
Edgecombe Co. North Carolina, of the second part: Witnesseth: that 
in consideration of the sum of two thousand dollars paid by the 
said Edwin Stallings the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged 
by the said Z.W.T. Mitchell, the said Mitchell has this day sold 
to the said Stallings, all that parcel of land situated on the 
Green Church Road and bounded as follows: on the north by the 
lands of Lew Hill, on the east by the land of Robt. K. Bass: on 
the south by the land of R.K. Bass and Richard H. Robinson,and on 
the west by the land of Wm. Long, Chas. Trisband and Isham Ruffin, 
and containing three hundred and six acres, more or less; it being 
the same tract of land conveyed by deed to the said Z.W.T. 
Mitchell by R.E. Thornton, Robert H. Robinson, Mary E. Robinson 
and Thomas H. Applewhite dated April 4th, 1872 and recorded in the 
county clerks office of Sussex Co. Va. Jan. 29th 1881 in Deed Book 
No.1 page 637, excepting eight acres conveyed by deed to Charles 
Trisband and five acres also conveyed by deed to Isham Ruffin. And 
the said Z.W.T. Mitchell hereby agrees to warrant and defend the 
title of the said property against all lawful claims.
