Deed - Truitt-Vincent Co. to Edward (Edwin) Stallings (Deed book 20, page 135, Sussex County, VA.) This Deed made this the 22nd day of January in the year 1909, between Truitt-Vincent Company, a Corporation duly created and organized under the laws of the State of Virginia, with its principal office in Emporia, Virginia, party of the first part, and Edward Stallings, of Stony Creek District, County of Sussex, and State of Virginia, party of the second part. Witnesseth; that and in consideration of premises, and of eight hundred dollars ($800.00) cash in hand paid by the party of the second part to the party of the first part, receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, they, the said Truitt-Vincent Company, do hereby grant and convey, with General Warranty, unto the said Edward Stallings, party of the second part, all that certain tract or parcel of land with the improvements thereon and appurtenances thereto belonging, situate, lying and being in Stony Creek District, County of Sussex, and State of Virginia, and containing two hundred and twenty eight and one half acres, to be the same more or less, and known as the Venable land, being the same tract of land conveyed by G.W.Truitt & Co. to Truitt-Vincent Co., and conveyed to the said G.W.Truitt & Co. on the 16th day of November 1899, by deed from Edward C.Venable and Alexander Hamilton, Ex'trs of Samuel W.Venable, deceased, and recorded in Deed Book 13, and page 110, reference is made for further description to said record, and also to the survey as shown by the plat made by Thos. F. Rives, dated Oct.7th 1899, and hereto attached. In Witness whereof; the said Truitt-Vincent Company has hereunto signed these presents by its President, attested by its Secretary and hath caused its Corporate seal to be hereto affixed, all the day and date and year above written.
