Persons or organizations desiring to use this material, must obtain the written consent of the contributor, or the legal representative of the submitter, and contact the listed USGenWeb archivist with proof of this consent. ************************************************************************ Contributed by Christie Canfield **************************************************************** This Indenture made This 7th day of December Anne Domini one thousand eight hundred & twenty two between Elijah Wren of the one part & George Norsworthy of the other part, both of the County of Sussex & State of Virginia Witnesseth that the Said Elijah Wren for & in consideration of two hundred & twenty Six dollars & 35 Cents to him Secured, the receipt whereof he does hereby acknowledge, he the Said Elijah Wren has granted bargained & Sold & by this Indenture does grant bargain & Sell alien enfeoff & Confirm unto the George Norsworthy & to his heirs, & assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land lying & being in the Said County of Sussex Containing Sixty five & Seven tenth Acres of land, be the Same more or less marked & bounded as follows, Beginning at a Stumpy white Oak in Mary Ponds line in the head of a Small branch, thence Said Ponds line N 6½o E 20 Poles to pine thence in new made line for Said Wren & Norsworthy S 74½ W 135 Poles to edge of old field S 79¼ W 26 1/5 poles to James Stanton's line, thence bounded by Said Stanton's line to Said Norsworthy's line, thence his line to a white Oak by Said Small branch, thence up Said Small branch to the tree began at, To have & to hold the Said tract or parcel of land to the Said George Norsworthy & to his heirs & assigns forever also all trees woods underwoods emoluments & hereditaments whatsoever thereunto appertaining & the Said Elijah Wren does further Covenant & agree to & with the Said George Norsworthy that this present deed of Bargain & Sale Shall be to him the Said George Norsworthy & to his heirs & assigns forever a good & Sufficient Warranty against him, his heirs or assigns, & all claiming by through or under them, as well as against the right title, Claim & demand of all & every other person or persons whosoever. – In Witness whereof the Said Elijah Wren has hereunto Set his hand & Seal this day & year first herein Written, Signed, Sealed & delivered in the presence of Elijah Wren (Seal) John W.
