Persons or organizations desiring to use this material, must obtain the written consent of the contributor, or the legal representative of the submitter, and contact the listed USGenWeb archivist with proof of this consent. ************************************************************************ Contributed by Christie Canfield **************************************************************** This Indenture made this 28th day of November in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred & fifteen between Grey Wren & Levina his wife of the one part & William Wren of the other part, all of the County of Sussex & State of Virginia, Witnesseth, that that the Said Grey Wren & Levina his wife for & in consideration of the Sum of two hundred dollars consideration to them Secured, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained & Sold & by this Indenture do bargain, Sell, alien enfeoff & confirm unto the Said William Wren & to his heirs & assigns forever, one certain tract or parcel of land lying & being in the Said Conty of Sussex, containing by estimation one hundred Acres be the Same more or less marked & bounded as follows, begining at the run of the Millpond, thence a newly made line S 26 W to a corner pine in Jordan Richardsons line, thence along Said Richardsons line to a passimmon tree in Jane Stacy's line thence bouned by Said Stacy's line into the run of the Mill pond, thence bounded be Said Mill Pond run to the begining. – To have & to hold the said tract or parcel of land to the Said William Wren & to his heirs & assigns to their proper use & behoof forever, also all trees, woods, underwoods, Commons, Common of pastures, profits, Commodities, emoluments & hereditaments whatsoever, in on or upon or any ways appurtaining to or considered as belonging to the Said tract of land as above mentioned, & the said Grey Wren & Levina his wife do further agree to & with the Said William Wren that this present deed bargain & Sale Shall be to him the Said William Wren & to his heirs & assigns forever a good & sufficient warranty against them & all claiming by thru or under them, as well as against the right, title claim & demand of all persons & every person whatsoever – In Witness whereof the Said Grey Wren & Levina his wife have hereunto Set their hands & affixed their Seals the day & year above written.--- In presence of Gray Wren (Seal) her Lavina X Wren (Seal) mark Sussex County to Wit We Benj. B. Rosser and Jno Nicholson Magistrates of Said County do hereby Certify that Gray Wren a party to the within conveyance hath duly acknowledged the Same before us on the 28th day of November in the year 1815, and desired us to certify the Said acknowledgment to the Clerk of the said County Court in order that the same may be recorded – And we further Certify that Lavina Wrenn wife of the Said Gray Wrenn personally appeared before us and being examined prively and apart from her husband, acknowledged the within Conveyance to be her act and Deed and declared that She had willingly Signed Sealed and delivered the Same, and that She did now wish to retract it – Given under our hands and Seals the day and year above written.— Benj.
