This file was contributed by: Christie Canfield ==================================================================== This Indenture made this thirty first day of January one thousand seven hundred and ninety eight Between William Wrenn and Lydia his wife of Sussex County of the one part and Davy Rix of the aforesaid County of the other part Witnesseth that the sd William & Lydia Wren for and in consideration of the Sum of forty five Pounds to them in hand paid or obligated for by the sd Davy Rix the receipt whereof the William Wren doth hereby acknowledge he the Said William Wren hath granted bargained & Sold Alien Enfeoff and by these presents doth grant bargain & Sell Alien Enfeoff & Confirm unto the sd Davy Rix his Heirs & Assigns one certain tract or parcel of Land containing fifty Acres (be the same more or less) Situate lying &being in Sussex County on the north side of the deep branch and bounded as follows begining at a en Pine side the road that leads from the Seacauust to S'ampton Court house in Joseph Rossers line thence along Rossers line to a en Maple in a small branch thence up said branch to a en black jack? in Wrens line thence along Wrens line Northerly to a en white oak thence Easterly along Wrens line to a en spanish oak thence Southerly to a en black jack? thence a line of marked trees to the beginning ------- -------- ------ And also all trees Woods underwoods commons common of pastures profits commodities advantages emoluments & hereditaments whatsoever to the said tract or parcel of land above mentioned belonging or any ??? appertaining or in or upon the the same growing happening or arising and also the reversion &reversions remainder & remainders rents and & ?????? of the said premises & of any part & parcel thereof & also all the Estate right title Interest claim & demands whatsoever of they the Said William &Lydia Wren of in & to the Said Premises of every part and parcel thereof, To have and To hold all & Singular the Said premises above mentioned and every part &parcel thereof with the appurtenances unto the Sd Davy Rix heirs &Assigns forever & the Sd Wm & Lydia Wren for themselves their Heirs &A the Said tract of Land against themselves and their Heirs & against all &every other person &persons whatsoever to the Sd Davy Rix his Heirs & Assigns shall & will Warrant & forever defend by these presents In Witness whereof the Sd Wm & Lydia Wren have hereunto set their hands and seals the day &year above written Signed Seald and delivered - Wm Wren (Seal) in presence of us Lydia Wren (Seal) At a Court held for Sussex County the 3rd of May 1798 This Indenture was acknowledged by William Wren and Lydia Wren his wife party thereto to be their act and deed The having been first fairly examined as the Law directs and Ordered to be Recorded Exd Teste M.Bailey Clk Sussex County VA, Deed Book I, pgs 190-191 FHLC #34167
