Frances M. Rideout & Edward T. Bailey Agreement (Deed Book AB, page 427, Sussex County, VA.) This article of agreement made 14th day of April 1875 between Edward P. Bailey and Francis M. Rideout. Witnesseth: That the said Francis M. Rideout is justly indebted to the said Edward P. Bailey in the sum of Seventy 41/100 Dollars by Bond bearing date Feby.10th 1875 and for supplies to the amount of one hundred & twenty 57/100 to be furnished by the said Edward P. Bailey to enable the said Francis M. Rideout to carry on his farming operation for the year 1875 for and in consideration of the premises as well as the consideration of the supplies to be furnished by the said Edward P. Bailey, the said Francis M. Rideout binds himself his heirs & to deliver to the said Edward P.Bailey (at his house) all of the crops made by him during the present year, and this shall constitute a lien of the crops, stock and other property of the said Francis M. Rideout until the said amounts are paid. And I, Francis M. Rideout do hereby waive the benefit of my homestead exemption as to this debt. Given under my hand and seal this date above mentioned.
