NEAL ATKINSON Mrs. Neal Faison Atkinson, 96, died Thursday, Aug. 27, in a Petersburg hospital. A lifelong resident of Surry County she was a daughter of Robert and Mrs. Elizabeth Laine Faison and the widow of Archer A. Atkinson. She was the oldest member of Dendron Methodist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Clyde C. Hart of Colonial Heights; two sisters, Miss Ethel Faison and Mrs. Moody Barrett of Alexandria; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. A funeral service was held Saturday, Aug. 29, at 2 p.m. in Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, by the Rev. R.B. Moore and the Rev. W.L. Hales. Burial was in Wakefield Cemetery. Pallbearers were Garland Spratley, Edgar Jones, David Steele, Enos Hargrave, Edwin Barrett, Gerald King, W.M.
