ROBERT LEE ATKINS

  WAKEFIELD - Robert Lee "Bobby Lee" Atkins, Sr., 81, of Wakefield went to be 
with the Lord on Sunday, January 6, 2013.  Robert was born December 13, 1931 
in Isle of Wight County.  He was preceded in death by his parents Jack Atkins, 
Sr. and Frances Joyner Atkins of Ivor.  He was married to his wife Jean 
(Britt) Atkins of 61 years.  Robert served in the US Army with the Army Corps 
of Engineers and was the owner of Atkins General Construction.

  Robert is survived by five children, Robert Atkins, Jr., Ronald Albert 
Atkins, Ricky Allen Atkins (Janice), Donald Gene Atkins (Sharon), and Lori Ann 
Atkins.  He was blessed with eight grandchildren, Jarrod Atkins (Karen), 
Trevor Atkins (Jackie), Brandon Atkins (Meg), Carrie Atkins, Payton Atkins, 
Jessica Atkins, Forrest Atkins and Catherine Atkins; and three great-
grandchildren.  Robert is also survived by two brothers and three sisters, 
Jack Atkins, Jr., John Atkins, Ethel Owen, Alice Faye Lowe, and Rebecca 
Maifeld; as well numerous other family members.

  The funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, January 9, 2013 
at Wakefield Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Wakefield Cemetery.  The 
family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.  In 
lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wakefield Baptist Church, P.O. Box 
567, Wakefield, Va. 23888 or to Waverly Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 583, Waverly, 
VA 23890.
