Joseph H. [sic; B.] Babb 

  Joseph Barham Babb, 52, of Waverly, died Tuesday, March 6, in Louise Obici 
Hospital, Suffolk, after an illness of three years. 

  He was a native of Sebrell, Southampton county, and the son of James Thomas 
and Margaret Doyle Babb.  He was a member of Courtland Baptist Church and was 
employed as machinist by Gray Products Co., Inc., Waverly. 

  Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Story Babb; four daughters; Mrs. Jo Ann 
Pond, Mrs. Peggy Branch and Mrs. Sue Holt, all of Waverly; and Mrs. Audrey 
Jean Topping of Kansas City, Mo.; three brothers, Vernon T. Babb of Sebrell; 
George W. Babb and Jack R. Babb, both of Courtland; two sisters, Mrs. Gracie 
Vaughan of Courtland, and Mrs. Ida Bradshaw of Los Angeles, Calif., and six 
grandchildren. 

  Services were held Thursday, March 8, at 3:30 p.m. in the Purviance Funeral 
Chapel with the Rev. J.E. McCauley, officiating.  Burial was in the Waverly 
Cemetery. 

  Pallbearers were: Judson Pond, Earl Holt, George Branch Jr., H.A. Faison, 
Melvin Faison, R.L. Grammer and C.E. Crawford.
