LESLIE ARTHUR BASS SR. 

  WAKEFIELD - Leslie Arthur Bass Sr., 49, a native of Deep Creek and the 
retired owner of Bass Distributors died Monday, Feb. 28.

  Mr. Bass was a Marine veteran of the Vietnam War and received the Purple 
Heart.

  He was a member of Wakefield Friends Church.

  Survived by his wife, Martha Anne Freeman Bass; three sons, Christopher 
Dow Bass, Leslie A. Bass, Jr. and Melvin W. Bass of Wakefield; his stepfather, 
V.L. Keaton of Chesapeake; a sister, Belma B. Hayes of Miami, Fla.; two 
brothers, James A. Babb of South Mills, N.C., and William N. Bass of 
Chesapeake; a stepbrother, Bruce Keaon of Oklahoma; a stepson, McAllen Freeman 
of Madison Heights; and a stepdaughter, Jo Anne Coe of Brookneal.

  Visitation at 37370 Old Wakefield Road Funeral 2 p.m. today at Purviance 
Funeral Home by the Rev. Linwood Hairfield.  Burial will be private.

  Memorials to American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
