ORIE VIRGINIA BARLOW BOOTHE

   Mrs. Orie Virginia Boothe, 75, wife of Leonard Hughland Boothe of 
Wakefield died suddenly Friday night, April 20, at her home after suffering 
a heart attack, although she had been in declining health for a few years.

   Mrs. Boothe, a native of Isle of Wight County, moved to Southampton 
County at the age of four years.  She was a daughter of the late Alexander 
and Mrs. Susan Meredith Price Barlow of Isle of Wight County and a member of 
Millfield Baptist Church near Ivor and of its Woman's Missionary Society.

   Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Jennile 
Boothe Hancock of Ivor, Mrs. Lucie Boothe Whitehead and Mrs. Dorothy Boothe 
Vick of Courtland; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

   Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. at Millfield Baptist 
Church by Rev. Douglas Cotter and Dr. J.E. White, both of Wakefield. Burial 
was in the church cemetery.

   Pallbearers were J.W. Ballard, J.H. Stephenson, Charlie Sadler, J.D. 
Owens, C.D. Owens, Garland Davis, Nelson Boykin and Thomas Presson.
