Bailey were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the home of his father, S.C. Bailey, in Wakefield, conducted by Rev. H.J. Goodwin of Suffolk and Rev. C.E. Garriman of Wakefield. Members of Wakefield Baptist Church choir sang "Rock of Ages", "Nearer My God to Thee", and "The Home Over There." Active pallbearers were J. Walter Hosier, H.L. Land, R.A. Savage, C.J. Hines, T.M. Ellis, J.R. Bell, R.M. Cobb, R.F. Bain. Honorary pallbearers were friends of the family. Burial was in the family cemetery in Wakefield. "Caddie" Cadmus C. BAILEY, of Suffolk, peanut factory machinist, b. 16 Nov 1875, Wakefield, d. 7 Dec 1933, Kempsville, Princess Anne Co., interred in the family cemetery*, Wakefield, 9 Dec 1933, "The Smithfield (VA) Times," Vol. 13, No. 36, Dec. 14, 1933 *Additional information: Birthdate &c. from D.Cert. 27821 (Kempsville #207), which gives buried in Suffolk; it incorrectly gives his mother as Mollie Owens & his wife as Mollie Bailey. Mary E. OWNEY & Samuel C. BAILEY m. 28 Jan 1875, in Southampton Co. (MB2:387), and they resided there in 1880 (Berlin & Ivor Dist.). "Mollie" d. 10 Jan 1930, Wakefield; bu. 11 Jan 1930, Sussex Co., by the family (D.Cert. #2396 {Wkfd #1}). "Sam" d. 14 Mar 1934, Southampton Co.; bu. 15 Mar 1934, Sussex, by the E.J. Raiford, Ivor Hardware Co. (D.Cert. #7943 {B&I #6}). Caddie m. "Pearlie" Pearl S. PARKER, dt/o John W. & Georgie A. PARKER, 8 May 1907, in Suffolk. (FamilySearch.org "Virginia Marriages") Pearl's D.Cert. (#11314) gives b. 28 Sep 1892, dt/o John W. Parker & George W. Bridges (all b. Potecasi, NC; d. 16 May 1927, Suffolk; bu. 18 May 1927, Wakefield, N.C. [sic], by I.O. Hill & Co., of Suffolk. John W. Parker m. Georgeanne Bridgers, 14 Jan 1880, in Northampton Co., NC.
