All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ WILLIAM ARCHER BAILEY WAKEFIELD - A funeral service for William Archer* Bailey was conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. in Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, by the Rev. H.E. Crutchfield. Burial with Masonic rites was in Wakefield Cemetery. Pallbearers were W.A. Beale, W.C. Seely Sr., O.L. Holt, Marshall Brittle, Wallace Brittle, R.M. Cobb, E.M. Richardson Jr., and S.I. Jenkins. Bailey, 63, died Friday in a Richmond Hospital. A native of Southampton County, he was a son of Kenneth E. and Mrs. Eudora Felts Bailey and the husband of Mrs. Alma Morris Bailey. He was a deacon and a member of Men's Bible Class of Wakefield Congregational Christian Church. He was also a member and past master of Wakefield Masonic Lodge 198. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Archer* L. Bailey of Wakefield; a daughter, Mrs. Oscar R. Owen of Wakefield; three brothers, Kenneth E. Bailey Jr. of Wakefield, Ray V. Bailey of Virginia Beach and Irby C. Bailey of Norfolk; four sisters, Mrs. L.T. Drewry of Wakefield, Mrs. M.A. Edwards of Windsor, Mrs. Frederick Holland of Disputanta and Mrs. C.W. Harper of La Grange, N.C. and three grandchildren.
