Born Sept. 13, 1917, to Edward Sanford Jenkins and Maude St. Clair [sic*] Harris Jenkins of Littleton, N.C. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Robert O’Brian Jenkins and Edward Jenkins; her sisters, Virginia Coeburn [sic; Coburn] and Dorothy Riggin [sic; Riggan]; her husband, Fairfield S. Bain; and her son, George A. Bain. She is survived by her son, Dr. Fairfield T. Bain and his wife, Marian of Weatherford, Texas, and Robert W. Bain and his wife, Anita of Ivor. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Williams; a grandson George Tucker Bain; a great-grandson, Tyler Gaboury; a sister, Edith Osbourne of Richmond; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend and neighbor, Anna T. Stephenson. "Jenks" was a graduate of Littleton High School and received her RN degree from Jersey City Hospital. She worked at Old Lakeview Hospital, in Suffolk, before becoming a homemaker and mother. She was a member of Wakefield United Methodist Church and a member of the Pocahontas Bain Sunday school class. The family would like to thank her daughter-in-law, Anita; and her care provider, Steve Tucker, for their care and devotion to her. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2010, at Wakefield United Methodist Church, with Pastor Willie Guill officiating. Burial will follow in the Wakefield Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a reception following the service in the church fellowship hall and at other times at the home of Mrs. Bain. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Wakefield United Methodist Church General Funk, P.O. Box 87, Wakefield, VA 23888. The family is being served by J.T. Her parents are buried in Calvary Methodist Church Cemetery, near Littleton. Her sister Edith McRae (JENKINS SOUTH) OSBORNE's 2m. rec. gives their mother's middle name as Sinclair.
