All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ MARY VICTORIA "VICKIE" WHITLEY BAIN WAKEFIELD - Funeral services for Mrs. Vickie Whitley Bain, 75, who died Thursday, Jan. 24, were conducted at the Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, Saturday at 3 p.m. by Rev. L.P. Bland and Rev. C.E. Gerringer. Mrs. Bain, who died after a long illness, was a native of Isle of Wight County. She was the daughter of Stephen J. and Mrs. Virginia Armistead Whitley and the widow of W. Tucker Bain. She was a member of Wakefield Methodist Church. Surviving are a son, Fairfield S. Bain of Wakefield; one sister, Mrs. O.W. Ward of Hampton; two brothers, C. Fairfield Whitley of Round Hill and S. Armistead Whitley of Lexington; three grandsons, Fairfield, Robert and George Bain of Wakefield, and several nieces and nephews. Burial was in Wakefield Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dr. O.W. Ward, Jr., John E. Williams, John S. Carson, J.B. Nicholson, Jr., Lyster Attiger, Arthur Shands, Dr. E.C. Nettles, Jack P. Bain, Dr. L.H. Rawls, Jr., and B.F. Boothe.
