HELEN MITCHELL BOND 

  ORIENTAL, N.C. - Helen Mitchell Bond, 80, beloved wife, mother, and 
grandmother, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 31, 2005.

  Born on Dec. 4, 1925, she was the daughter of the late James and Cleo Bailey 
Mitchell.  Mrs. Bond was a former member of Mount Carmel Christian Church in 
Walters, Va., and the Woman’s Auxiliary FOP Lodge 28, Norfolk Chapter.

  She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Lee Bond; two daughters, 
Sarah Brown and husband, Robert, of Williamsburg, Va., Betty Davis and 
husband, Steve, of Grapevine, Texas; half-sister, Nell Aycock of Charlotte, 
N.C.; grandchildren, Sonja Carpenter and husband, Derek, Scott Brown, and 
Stephen Brown and wife, Leah; great-grandchildren, Casey Lee Carpenter, Bailey 
Jane Carpenter, and Jocelyn Lesperance; a host of nieces and nephews; and 
sisters of the heart, Annie Mary, Joy and Mae.

  Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral 
Home & Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, by Rev. Michael D. Halley 
with burial in Wakefield Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour.
