JOSEPH ELPENOR BURGESS 

  Joseph E. Burgess, 61, a resident of Wakefield died Thursday, November 6, 
1975.  He was the Parts Manager for the Waverly Motor Co.  He is survived 
by his wife, Hettie Warren Burgess; a son, Robert E. Burgess, both of 
Wakefield; a daughter, Mrs. Richard T. Getz of Timberville; a brother, 
Page P. Burgess; a sister, Julia B. Brooks, both of Norfolk; and three 
grandchildren.  A graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, November 
8, at 2 p.m. in the Wakefield Cemetery.  The remains rest at the Purviance 
Funeral Home in Wakefield.
