Barrett, 74, a World War II Army veteran, died Thursday, May 13. Mr. Barrett was a retired farmer and was a lifelong resident of Southampton County. He was a member of Barrett's Congregational Christian Church, the B & B Hunt Club in Southampton County and the Hopewell chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survived by his wife, Edna Eure Barrett; a daughter, Nancy B. Buhls of Ivor; a sister, Charlotte B. Clements of Windsor; a brother, Hubert E. Barrett of Petersburg; and a granddaughter. Visitation from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Purviance Funeral Home. Funeral at 1 p.m. Saturday at funeral home by the Rev. Larry Grizzard. Burial in Wakefield Cemetery.
