Born in Sussex County, he was a retired service station operator. He was a Methodist. A Sussex County native, he was a retired service station operator. [sic] Survivors include his wife, Laura Johnson Barrett of Dendron; one daughter, Nancy B. Smith of Dendron; a sister, Mrs. Mary B. Staples of Colonial Heights; and a grandchild. A funeral will conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Purviance Funeral Home chapel, Wakefield, by the Rev. Samuel Askew. Burial will be in Wakefield Cemetery. May 3 at 11 a.m. in the Purviance Funeral Home Chapel in Wakefield with the Rev. Samuel Askew officiating. Burial was in the Wakefield Cemetery. Purviance Funeral Home in Wakefield was in charge of the arrangements.
