LUCY ATKINS BRITT 

  WAKEFIELD - Lucy Atkins Britt, 87, a resident of 317 Richardson Ave., 
Wakefield, died Monday, Sept. 23, 1996, at Southampton Memorial Hospital, 
Franklin.  Mrs. Britt was born in Southampton County and was the daughter 
of the late Edwin D. and Priscilla Felts Atkins.

  She was a member of Windsor Baptist Church and the Young at Heart Club 
in Windsor.  Her husband was the late Thomas L. Britt Sr.

  Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Virginia B. Barham and Mrs. Betty 
Banty, both of Capron; two sons, Samuel L. Britt and Thomas L. Britt, Jr., 
both of Wakefield; a sister, Mrs. Sarah A. Kea of Ivor; 12 grandchildren 
and nine great-grandchildren.

  Funeral services will be held at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, on 
Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. James B. Crocker.  Burial will 
be in Wakefield Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral 
home on Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and at other times at Mrs. Britt’s 
residence, 317 Richardson Ave., Wakefield.

  Memorials donations may be made to the Windsor Baptist Church, P.O. Box 
498, Windsor, Va. 23487.

  Lucy Atkins Britt, 87, of Wakefield, Va. died Monday, September 23, 1996. 
Her husband was the late Thomas L. Britt Sr.  Survivors include two daughters, 
Mrs. Virginia B. Barham and Mrs. Bettie Ann Banty, both of Capron; two sons, 
Samuel L. Britt and Thomas L. Britt Jr., both of Wakefield; a sister Mrs. 
Sarah A. Kea, Ivor, twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Wednesday 2 p.m.  Burial will be in Wakefield Cemetery.  The family will
