BARRETT WAKEFIELD - Philip Bernard Barrett, 72, of Wakefield, died Monday in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin. A retired farmer, he was a member, secretary and treasurer of Barrett's Christian Church, which his family founded. He was also a member of B&B Hunt Club. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Amy Bailey Barrett; six sisters, Mrs. Claudine Collier of California, Md., Mrs. Mary Jackson of Alexandria, Miss Katherine Barrett of Arlington, Mrs. Ruth Hamlin of Surry, Mrs. Josie West of Richmond, and Mrs. Dorothy Owen of Jarratt; and two brothers, Philip H. Barrett of Winston Salem, N.C., and Gordon Barrett of Alexandria. A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, by Dr. R.E. Brittle. Burial will be in Wakefield Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** Phillip B. He was a member of B. & B. Hunt Club and secretary and treasurer of the Barrett Congregational Christian Church.
