Mr. Barrett was a former native of Southampton and the husband of the late Mamie Tatum Barrett. Surviving is one sister, Lily M. Gay of Wakefield. A graveside service was held Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 4 p.m. with Dr. R.E. Brittle. Purviance Funeral Home in Wakefield was in charge of the arrangements. ****************************************************************************** JOSEPH SPRATLEY BARRETT Joseph Spratley Barrett, 85, of Courtland, died Monday, Nov. 11, 1985, in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin. He was a native of Southampton and retired employee of Midway Service Station, Wakefield. He was the widower of Mamie Tatum Barrett. Survivors include one sister, Lilly M. Gay of Wakefield. A graveside funeral was conducted Tuesday, Nov. 12, in Burton’s Grove Church Cemetery, Wakefield, had charge of arrangements.
