SAMUEL THOMAS BIRDSONG 

  WAKEFIELD, VA., Feb. 26 - Samuel T. Birdsong, 68, employee of a lumber 
company at Emporia, Va., died Tuesday at his home near here.  A funeral 
service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Traylor-Purviance Funeral Home, 
Wakefield, with burial here.  Surviving is one brother, John C. Birdsong, 
of Wakefield.

b. 19 Feb 1883, d. 26 Feb 1952, at home, near Wakefield, 
interred in Wakefield Cemetery*, 28 Feb 1952,

   family plot, Sussex Co.; sn/o George T. & Mollie A. (SCARBOROUGH) BIRDSONG. 

The 1900 Census gives his mother as Mollie E.  (Wakefield, Sussex Co.) 

His father's D.Cert. 2264 (Wakefield #1) gives buried 6 Jan 1928 at home, 
   Wakefield; sn/o John Birdsong & Miss Lineir [sic; LANIER]. 

George m. Mollie SCARBOROUGH, dt/o Miles & [2wf] Joanna, 28 May 1877.
