He was the husband of Gladys R. Brittle. He was a farmer of Sussex and Southampton Counties; member of Burton Grove Christian Church; Meadow Hunt Club; and the Virginia Tractor Pullers, Ind. Other survivors include a son, Thomas Brittle; a daughter, Carol Brittle of the home; his parents Mr. and Mrs. G.C. Brittle of Wakefield; a sister Mrs. Carolyn B. Boykin of Richmond; two brothers, Gilbert C. Brittle, Jr. of Bowling Green and Charles B. Brittle of Wakfield. A funeral service will be held Sunday, January 14 at 2:30 p.m. in the Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield. Burial in Wakefield Cemetery. Family suggests memorial to the Ivor Rescue Squad.
