BRITTLE DIED SUDDENLY John Billie Brittle, 63, of Wakefield, died Tuesday, March 29. He was a native of Southampton County and son of the late William T. and Alice Coker Brittle. He had been employed by the Wakefield Oil Company for over 20 years. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. June B. Phillips, of Petersburg; one son, John Joseph Brittle, of Wakefield; one sister, Miss Ethel Brittle, of Petersburg, and one grandson. Funeral services were held Thursday, March 31 at 3 p.m. with Rev. D.M. Cotter and Rev. Fred Wright officiating. Burial was in Elam Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Daniel Gay, William Cole, Marvin Morris, Ervin Robinson, Harvey Cowling, Leroy Cornwell, Lonwood Morris and V.L. His parents are buried in Wakefield Cemetery.
