PERRY THADDEUS BRITTLE 

RITES HELD FOR PERRY BRITTLE 

  Perry Thaddeus Brittle, 76, died Thursday, Sept. 12 at a Warwick hospital. 
He was a retired Waverly businessman and a member of the Eastern Star and 
Masonic Lodge.

  He is survived by four nieces; Mrs. Virgie Brittle Gay, of Wakefield, Mrs. 
Annie Raby, of West Norfolk, Mrs. Sarah Sampson, of Norfolk and Mrs. Susie 
Brittle Sloan, of Hopewell, and six nephews, Guy, Herbert and F.J. Brittle, 
Jr., of Hopewell, Stanley Brittle, of Rushmere, Hurley Brittle, of Waverly, 
and Oscar L. Brittle, of Newport News.

  Funeral services with Masonic rites were held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 15, 
at the grave in Waverly Cemetery.

  Pallbearers were Francis Sloan, of Hopewell, Brooks Faison, of Surry, A.W. 
Cutright, of Ivor, Ben Baugh, of Spring Grove, and Elmon Gray, Garland Gray, 
L.L. Sykes, and K.W. O’Geary, all of Waverly.

He shares a gravestone with brother Flavius Joshua BRITTLE & Flavius' wife 
   Bessie [May] (GWALTNEY) BRITTLE; however, the D.Cert. of "Flavious" 
   gives bu. Gwaltney Cemetery.  (1926-20498 {Waverly #22) 

Presumably that is the Gwaltney family cemetery, 4315 Martin Luther King Hwy. 
   (VA Hwy. 40), near Carsley, where Bessie's parents, "Seth" Salathiel Thomas 
   & Rosa Rebecca (ANDREWS) BRITTLE, are buried.

He was a son of "Gus" Augustus A.A. & Sarah (PRESSON) BRITTLE.
