BRITTLE Thomas Lee Brittle, 60, died at 6 a.m. Sunday in a Suffolk hospital after an illness of four months. He was a native of Southampton County and had made his home in Wakefield since 1918. Mr. Brittle, a garage mechanic, was the son of the late William Thomas and Alice Coker Brittle. Surviving are his wife, Reby Laine Brittle; one sister, Miss Ethel Brittle of Petersburg; a brother, John B. Brittle of Wakefield; one niece, Mrs. Bobby Phillips, of Petersburg; one nephew, Billy Brittle, of Wakefield. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Purviance Funeral Chapel with Rev. D.M. Cotter, Rev. Fred Wright and Dr. J.E. White officiating. Burial was in Wakefield Cemetery. Pallbearers were J.N. Savedge, Aubrey Whitmore, Harvey Cowling, V.L. Worrell, Sr., V.L. Worrell, Jr., Joe Burgess, Pete Eggleston and C.L. Goodrich.
