JENNIE HOLT BRANCH

    EMPORIA - Funeral services for Jennie H. Branch, 83, were held Sunday in 
Purviance Funeral Home Chapel, Wakefield, by the Rev. Donald Harvey.  Burial 
was in Waverly cemetery.

   Pallbearers were: Roy Clark, Raymond Clark, Aaron Clark, Jr., Robert 
Champan, Donald Champan, Johnny Peaffer, and Wayne Cutchins.

   Branch died Friday in Greensville Memorial Hospital.

   She was a native of Southampton County and the widow of Clarence N. Branch. 
She was a member of Elam Baptist Church.

   Survivors include a daughter, Carrie Turner Cole of Waverly; a brother, 
Herman Holt, also of Waverly; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 
five great-great-grandchildren.
